What Ashton's flu has done to me

My little baby has the flu :-( It is so so sad when a baby is sick, and he is very, very sick. It has been a crazy couple of days. Hopefully this goes away soon! I am so sad to see my baby hurting but also I might be going a little bit crazy from it all, for example:

I.......................

-forgot to brush my teeth today-still haven't

-ate 3 bowls of ice cream

-screamed in a pillow

-drank 5 Diet Dr. Peppers

-lost my phone today, then found it in my pocket 30 minutes later

-wiped Ashton's snotty nose with my shirt and am still wearing it

Here is a picture of us taken by my hubs. I look worse than Ashton and I'm not even sick. It looks like we are watching a movie but we could be just staring at a wall, or sleeping with our eyes open...wouldn't surprise me.

And this was just today.....I am really scared for tomorrow.

Coupon Monster

I am going to my first coupon class tom. night. I feel a little bit 75 years old but I am all about saving the money!! Coupons scare scare scare me. That is probably weird but when I get to a check out lane and I have 107 coupons and I am trying to get them out of my wallet and figure out which ones I can use all while there are 5 people behind me rolling their eyes because I am taking too long and I start sweating and turn red and then just give up etc. etc. FAST NERVOUS HOT MESS. SOOOOOOOO with that long, stressful, no punctuation sentence perfectly defining my coupon experiences, I plan on dominating the stores with my future knowledge of the coupon world. I have no idea what happens at a coupon class but it has to help at least a little....right? I really hope they just hand out lots of awesome coupons-preferably to Target, Forever 21, and BABIES R US (shout out to the baby). If anyone has any coupon organizing/using tips I would love to know!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas with family and friends as much as our family did. We are so blessed to have our families, friends and eachother. Ashton enjoyed Christmas time so much. Ray and I are so blessed and thankful to have our beautiful, healthy baby!

...............................................................washed my hair with this.

In case you were wondering, this is body wash...not shampoo, and I washed my hair with this smelly good BODY WASH for about a week. I found out it was BODY WASH when Raymond asked me if I could buy some more shampoo next time I went to the store. I of course said "I just bought a bottle of mango shampoo last week, it smells so good!" He said," that is body wash, and you are dumb." He didnt say that but his face said it all.

If you saw me and my hair was a little extra greasy, I hope you will take back your thoughts on how bad it looked and I guess judge me now on how I can't read a bottle correctly. I don't blame you-I'm over it though, done and done.

Life is pretty simple right now, here are some quick updates:

1. We lost and found Phoebe. Saddest night of my life and next day happiest day of my life- it trumped my wedding day (being a little dramatic)

2. Ashton is rockin on his knees. Crawling? Nah. But he is rockin away. I need to show him that he has arms.

3. I painted my dining room table vintage sapphire blue. I will post pics later!

4. I made 4 cutesy girl burp rags and I have a boy.

California Girls? Really Ash?

Been awhile but I am back....for now. As a lot of people know, Raymond is the singer in the family, and he is pretty good at it too! I am NOT a singer....I LOVE to sing but only when I am in the car with friends/alone etc. And now, when I am putting Ashton to sleep....We have a little bed time routine that we do everynight for Ash which includes lotion, putting pajamas on, reading a book then rocking for a bit. NOW, Ashton requires that I sing him to sleep. I have been doing this for awhile and I usually sing a variety of songs, mainly church/worship songs but I think he is getting bored bc he hasnt been falling asleep as fast. SOO tonight, I sang every song in the song book (not really), a little Michael Buble, Sarah Barreiles, and then....Katy Perry's California Girls song in a much softer tone than it is and....he fell asleep. I don't know why I did it and am not proud of this but it just came out. I do not necessarily like that song but bc of the radio, I know pretty much every word. I really hope he doesnt require me to sing that song again but if it will get him to sleep at his 7:30 bedtime, I'll do it (he will probably wake up in the middle of the night screaming when he remembers that his MOM sang him the popsicle part of the song...in my defense, I sang it so quiet it was basically not even said). I was singing California girls/praying that Raymond wouldn't come home from work early and witness my slow, quiet, bedtime version of the song. Maybe next time I will add the Snoop Dog (Dog or Dogg? or Snoop Doggie Dog? Whatever...) rap in...apparently Ash is in to that.

He's a week away from being 7 months old and he's cute...maybe I'm bias but OH he's cute. He weighed 17.10 and was 28 inches long at his 6 month checkup and has 2 teeth! He rolls over both ways and sits up like a champ. We started him on actual baby food at 6 months and his favorite is green beans! We haven't started fruit yet so that might change but as of now green beans are the thing! I am POSITIVE he said 'mama' but I was alone with him so no one believes me! haha! Baby news and weddings!

Ashton just turned 23 weeks old this past Sunday....I seriously cannot believe it. I am happy and sad. Happy because he is so much fun and I love watching him grow and change into this wonderful little person---sad because he is growing so so fast, too fast and I want him to stay my precious little baby (of course he always will though)!!!

I am not exactly sure of his weight right now but at his 4 month check up he weighed 15.11 lbs so I am positive he has doubled that by now....haha ok not quite doubled it but def. has grown! I am not weighing him myself and am just going to wait until his 6 month checkup which is pretty soon so Raymond and I can have our "guess the baby weight game". Lame I know, but I have won everytime :-) Here is a brief Ashton news update:

-He is still sleeping through the night, about 8 to 6 ish (PLEASE LAST BC IT IS SO GREAT). It was the craziest thing bc he went from barely sleeping at all, and then once he hit 7 weeks old he slept all night. We think he is giving us a break for not sleeping at all for 6 weeks, haha!

-He has rolled over a few times but doesnt seem to enjoy it that much. The first time completely freaked him out I think!

-He doesnt love being on his stomach but does it ok. He moves his hands like he is swimming when he is on his tummy, haha!

- He HATES rice cereal!!! He acts like it is just the worst thing in the entire world!!! Since he is sleeping all night I am going to re-introduce it at 6 months and be consistant with it, haha! He sure does love his milk duds though (that is what we call his bottles).

- He is finally pretty set on a nap schedule which has been nice because I can initiate the naps before he gets too upset-he has been napping about an hour and a half after he wakes up, noon, 3, and 5....those are all ishes but the naps are always right around those times and are never very long but that is ok as long as he gets his rest!

-I could go on and on and on about my precious baby but will stop for now!!!

This Saturday is my sister's wedding. I am so excited for her and Brody and love them both so much!! Ashton is very excited too because he gets to wear a suit with a bow tie! Here is my little man looking so very handsome in his new wedding suit.
